Beaches and coves of San Jose

The beaches of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, or San José, extend from the south of the island to the west. It is one of the largest municipality of the island, and economically of the most important. About nine kilometres from Ibiza, this municipality has an area of almost one hundred and sixty square kilometres.

The term is divided into small parishes, being its neuralgic center the parish of Sant Josep, although not unnoticed parishes like Sant Jordi, Sant Agustí or Sant Francesc. The length of the stretches of coastline is quite wide, being able to find several beaches in all the term, from Port D’es Torrent, adjoining with the municipality of Sant Antoni, to Playa d’en Bossa, sharing ownership with the beaches of the city of Ibiza .

Most are small coves, quite closed and not very populated. Thus we can find the beach of Cala Carbó, the beach of Cala Vadella, the beach of Cala de Es Codolar, the beach of Cala Molí or the beach of Cala Tarida. These coves widely contrasted with beaches, quite spacious, above all those that surround the area of las salinas. In this sense we can find the beach is Xarcu, Cala Beach des Cubells, la Cala Bassa Beach, beach of Port d’es Torrent or the beach of Cala Jondal. Finally, the so-called officially nudist beach, the Playa des Cavallet. It should be noted views that possesses the municipality, including the beaches of Comte, from where you can see the island of the rabbit Hutch. However, you can see the most spectacular part of the island from the beach of Cala D’hort. Here stands a majestic island, Vedra, known as energy point of the planet and the birthplace of countless myths and legends. If you have your own rental car access to the beaches will be much more comfortable and even possible in some cases. You can also explore other areas of the coast such as the beaches of San Juan, or the coves of Santa Eulalia. The beaches of San Jose are usually included among the great sands of the coves and beaches of Ibiza.

Cala Carbó belongs to the typical San Jose Coves located in a low coastline and well protected. A cove to enjoy the tranquility.

A spectacular cove that catches the traveler by surprise. Mainly because the cove appears after taking a curve of the road, offering a unique view.

A very quiet cove between two soft elevations. Although something open, it is well protected from the wind.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Es Xarcu”][vc_single_image image=”47464″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] is Xarcu [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Access to ES Xarcu is not easy. Access roads are quite narrow and long vehicles may have trouble getting to the shore.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Es Cubells”][vc_single_image image=”47434″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] is Cubells [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Another cove of uncomfortable access although as a reward we will have small coves very protected and solitary. Some are only coves accessible by boat.

Cala D’Hort is the preferred place for those who understand the beach as a spiritual refuge. The presence of Vedrá is overwhelming.

In the Natural Park of Ses Salines, a World Heritagesite, we find a nudist beach, but not by definition. The views of Formentera are amazing.

Ibiza’s famous beach par excellence. Probably because of its exclusive bars. Such a star hides the beauty of Ses Salines and its surroundings.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Es Codolar”][vc_single_image image=”47428″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] It’s codollar [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The beach Es Codolar is not Sandy. Its edge is full of large round stones that produce a constant sound. There are no services but it is compensated to have the Ses Salines Natural Park on the back.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Sa Caleta”][vc_single_image image=”47494″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] Sa Caleta [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Next to the first village of the island we find Sa Caleta. The access to the beach was human work, but the beach and its surroundings are a work of art of nature.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Cala Jondal”][vc_single_image image=”48293″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] Cala Jondal [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Cala Jondal is one of the few coves on the island where people who go dancing surpass those who want to bathe. Probably because the only comfortable way to reach the shore is through planks arranged on the boulders. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Cala Tarida”][vc_single_image image=”47380″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] Cala Tarida [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Cala Tarida is a spectacular beach from the moment you park the car. A wide sandy beach gives access to the shore and many corners to enjoy it. Not in vain is one of the best places to visit in Ibiza

Few beaches in Ibiza have the fame of Cala Conta. But it is a fame won by Pulse for its sunsets. Easy access and with many coves to discover.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”Filaplayas” el_id=”Cala Es Codolar”][vc_single_image image=”47552″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text el_class=”.conelanteriorreducido”] Cala Es Codolar [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Cala Es Codolar is another quiet beach, located between pine forests and easy access not very frequented.

Cala Bassa is a beach very close to the town of San Antonio, although it belongs to the municipality of Sant Josep. The presence of a campsite makes it an atypical beach.
