Es Xarcu beach, an isolated cove

The beach of ES Xarcu is difficult to access but very quiet

Belonging to the municipality of Sant Josep We can find the beach of Es Xarcu, about thirteen kilometers from Ibiza and nine from Sant Josep. We can access by road, both by car and by bicycle. To access we recommend to follow the road that part of Cala Jondal and take the deviation to the left following the indications. We can also arrive taking the road from San Jorge to Es Cubells and taking the deviation to the left about two kilometers before the end of the road, taking the detour that marks the direction to Es Torrent. The final stretch runs along an unpaved road with a fairly pronounced slope.

We will find in Es Xarcu

It’s Xarcu is a pretty small cove. This is a closed cove. The beach is very narrow about ten meters of medium width and quite elongated, with a hundred meters in length, nestled in a natural landscape in which we share space with small fishermen’s huts and a small torrent, all in a landscape Typical Mediterranean, with pine trees that almost reach the sea.

The beach of Es Xarcu

The Beach is composed of sand, something fine, which is going to enter the sea covering largely the rocky bottom, except in some submarines where we can appreciate this formation. It should be taken into account that the slope of the seabed is not very pronounced, having more than twenty meters suitable for bathing. The wind usually blows from the sea to the inland, and almost always in a gentle way. In short, es Xarcu beach is a pretty quiet place where we can enjoy nature, with basic services, and some water activities to relax and enjoy.

It is important to control the timetable of the buses, because losing the last one can be a problem. We recommend you to move in a rental car.
