3D virtual tourStart the tourCala Bol Nou, better known as Sa Caleta, lies in the municipality of Sant Josep, halfway between Ibiza Town and Sant Josep: it is about ten kilometres from both.
It is an enclosed bay with several sandy beaches separated by rocky stretches, around a hundred metres long and eight metres wide on average. The sand is fine and there are plenty of rocks that make handy seats. The water gets deep just a few metres from the shore, so it is not the best choice for young children or for anyone who cannot swim.

The seabed is full of plant life and fish: the thing to do is simply look with a mask and snorkel, treating the environment with every respect.
Because the bay is so enclosed, light onshore breezes blowing in from the sea are the norm here.
All around there are pine woods, high earth banks and steep ground: if you fancy exploring on foot, take care.
Features of Bol Nou or Sa Caleta Beach
It is famous for its reddish clay cliffs. Note: Sant Josep Town Council has closed it until further notice because of the risk of rockfalls, so check its status before you go. There is a restaurant near the beach.
It is a good place to find some peace and quiet and enjoy the scenery, both the sea and the coastline.
The easiest way to get there from Ibiza Town is along the airport road. Shortly before you reach the airport, take the signposted turn-off on the left towards Cala Jondal; after about four kilometres you will see the dirt track to Sa Caleta.
You can go by car or motorbike; by bike, only if you are in good shape.
