Solo IbizaBeaches of Ibiza Town
The beaches of Ibiza Town, or Eivissa, are on the east of the island. Although it is the capital, Ibiza Town is quite a small municipality, about eleven square kilometres, and it only touches the sea on one side. That stretch of coast holds the island’s main port, where the ferries from Barcelona, València and Dénia arrive and where the boats to Formentera leave from.
Where the beaches of Ibiza Town are
Leaving aside the port area, there are three town beaches. On one side of the port is Talamanca Beach, and on the other Figueretas Beach, separated by a fairly rocky stretch of coast where it is hard to get into the water. Carry on along that beach and you reach Playa d’en Bossa, which is shared with the municipality of Sant Josep. From other parts of town there are spots to reach the sea that are not beaches, but they are fine for a swim.
If you don’t have a vehicle to get around the island, remember that there is car hire available in Ibiza Town.

South of town, Playa d’en Bossa is split between two municipalities and changes character along the way. On the Ibiza side the beach is quiet; once you cross into Sant Josep the music scene picks up, and it ends in a first-class natural setting when it reaches the Ses Salines nature park.
Talamanca is a sandy beach on the other side of the port, next to ses Feixes de Talamanca, a wetland where many migratory birds spend the winter. It is a bit far to walk from the centre, but it is worth it if you have transport or take the bus.

The Walls of Dalt Vila
A visit to the walled town of Dalt Vila should be on the list of anyone coming to Ibiza; in fact, it is one of our favourite places to visit. It is not just history: the views over the bay and the busy port are simply spectacular.
Ibiza Cathedral
The climb up to the Cathedral square can feel like a tough walk, especially in summer. But if you do it at sunset or first thing in the morning, you will be struck by the feel of an eternal city and a port in full swing. Don’t miss it.
Sant Pere Bastion
A spot devoted to art and culture that looks out from the town’s great wall. Getting up here means enjoying wonderful views over the bay of Ibiza and the whole coast as far as Formentera.
