The Church of Sant Josep is one of the most beautiful and well known of the island of Ibiza

The Church Of Sant Josep is located on the banks of the road that crosses the center of the village, at the highest point of the road itself. Being an area away from the sea and situated in mountainous terrain, the inhabitants of the different plots in which the old quart was divided did not have the need for refuge from the coastal towns. The religious acts were held in the parish several kilometres from Sant Antoni. It will Not thus be until 1727 when the works of the temple begin, concluding four years later, motivated by the increase of the population in the adjoining bandages.

Almost Three hundred Years of history

Despite not taking the risk of pirate attacks, the church continues with the simplicity typical of the religious constructions of the island, presenting a unique square nave, with several chapels on its sides and a smooth exterior and liming. The main entrance consists of the obligatory porch and is topped by a belfry. A large part of the religious works that were found inside the church Of Sant Josep were partially or totally destroyed during The Civil war, and a ALTARPIECE of XVIII century and several restored works are currently being preserved.
