Church of Sant Jordi. Defensive Church
The Church of Sant Jordi is preferred by many for religious celebrations
The Church Of Sant Jordi is located in the heart of the town Centre Of Sant Jordi. To reach the church we will have to take the road that crosses the locality and that was once a place of passage towards the airport. If we go towards Ibiza, the church is on the first turning on the left that we can take. About a hundred meters we find this old construction.

Defying history
The construction of the church is not very clear, since a chapel has been recorded since the time of the Catalan reconquest. Some authors establish their antiquity in the 13TH century, although it will not be until 1577 when written references are made.
Due to the proximity of the Salt Flats, enemy incursions were frequent, and as it could not be otherwise, the Church presents a look of fortification, with thick walls topped in battlements. The current entry is a substitute for the original entrance, which was in one of the side chapels. These belong to the EIGHTEENTH century, although the church would suffer continued reforms during the later century, conforming its final aspect.
