3D virtual tourStart the tourCala Xuclà is in the municipality of Sant Joan, quite far from any built-up area: it is about 29 km from Ibiza Town and 7 km from Sant Joan. To get there, take the Portinatx road and, at km 19, follow the sign for the beach; from there a steep slope leads down to the beach itself.
As with almost every beach in the municipality, the road is very hilly and cycling is not a good idea: the car is the easiest option.
What you will find at Cala Xuclà
Cala Xuclà is an inlet tucked between hills, with a stream running down to it from the high ground. That shape has left a small beach, about 50 metres long and 25 wide, of coarse sand, with rocks closing off the rest of the cove.
In the water the seabed is more rock than sand and it stays shallow for the first 30 metres, so it is a good spot for a bit of snorkelling.
Surrounded by hills as it is, you hardly ever notice the wind, and when it does blow, it is only light.
For such a small cove it tends to get quite busy. If you like rustic, quiet spots surrounded by cliffs, you will love Cala Xuclà.
