How did we get to Es Pujols, Formentera?

Since we arrived at the boat, Formentera gives the impression of being something else. The color of the water is special. Just past the islands of Illa de Sa Torrerta, S’Espalmado and Gastavi, the coast acquires a light blue tone.

Upon arrival in port, we have several options. Bus, bicycle, motorcycle or car. If you’ve never used a bike, Formentera is not the best place to learn.

After leaving behind the port of la Savina, take the first turning to the left. Estany Pudent, the great salt from Formentera will be our right. After surrounding the salt industry, about six kilometres, we reach Es Pujols.

Playa Es Pujol FormenteraWhat will we find in Es Pujols?

When we go to the beach, we tend to cross the first meters of sand at the busiest access point. The crowd, looking for a place where to place the towel and there spent the day. But this is Formentera.

Es Pujols Beach has a comfortable ride of wood which flows through it. If we start with the end located to the East, two small bays of white sand await us. The water is very clear. From here you can see Illa des Fonoll Marí, where makes you want to go swimming. The landscape is very picturesque.

The coast curves and we can see how the sand leaves the rock. If you don’t like the sand, this place is perfect. We can combine the landscape with a visit to the huts of fishermen. Here villagers protect their boats.

We find us arena. This time we met at the main entrance of Es Pujols. Here, the animation is much higher. Shops, bars and restaurants are proliferating in the adjoining streets.

A little later, the presence of Illa de S’Aigua Dolça (freshwater), returns a coastal stretch rather rocky and with lot of maritime fauna.

So far, what a tourist is often. But the road continues. And the coast changes. The road goes by raising and small rocks become large cut stone structures. They have formed some sandbanks sunbathing with intimacy. In one of them we find a completely Virgin water access. We have come to the Raco d’ in Fornet. Now the terrain rises abruptly, but worth the climb more. Here is el Racó des Singlish, a wall of about fifty meters with access to a very high cave and little deep, ideal for windy days.
Now it’s back. That no one should think that it is a boring task. From this height, you can see all the beach of Es Pujols. And Sa Roqueta, Espalmador, half Formentera and everything south of the island of Ibiza including the always impressive Es Vedrà. Almost as in the office.
