Recreational fishing and underwater fishing in Ibiza are quite common practices in the Islands and are perfectly regulated. The first thing we must know is differentiation goes inland and foreign waters. Internal waters are sea lots that are located within a few lines of imaginary form from different parts of the coast. Apart from these lines, are considered foreign waters, and as such, are the responsibility of the administration of the State.
Internal waters, on the other hand, are affected by the constraints imposed by the Government of the Islands. Note that the natural reserves enjoy special protection. If you already know what type of fishing practice, remember that you will also need the corresponding license.
In Ibiza you will find five types of licenses:
- Individual (from land or boat, for over 14 years. It costs about 13.60 euros and lasts two years.
- Collective (from vessel list 6th, for up to 12 people). It has a cost of 400,08 euros. Valid for one year
- Underwater fishing (for over 16 years in possession of license). It has a cost of 15,98 euro. Valid for one year.
- Sports (to participate in official competitions and trainings). Valid for one year.
- Boat (to list 7th boats and up to five people). For boats of length less than six meters slopes 32.10 and 59,04 euros for the rest. The duration is three years.

Children under fourteen years old do not need any license for individual fisheries or from boat, but remember that the Ibizan coast is usually very steep, and although the Mediterranean is a benevolent sea, is not without dangers.
You will need to purchase the license:
- Photocopy of ID or passport, or expired license in case of renewal.
- The receipt of the payment of the fee.

For underwater and sports fishing license, you must present the federal license. The sports license is free. From spearfishing for Balearic Islands must obtain it in an accredited Centre. Boat license requires the certified copy of the license/role of up-to-date navigation and photocopy of ID or passport of the owner. For collective license will need, in addition, an application on the official form, a certified photocopy of the license/role of up-to-date navigation showing data from the boat, the owner, the pattern and the technical sports specializing in fishing or fishing professional. If you think little, need to also the authorization of the Ministry of mobility and planning for the rental of recreational craft from the EU, which, moreover is located in Palma and where they may be contacted through 971 17 62 00. And finally the title of training of technical sports specializing in fishing espedido by public administration, or accreditation of embarking on a ship ready 3rd for a minimum of five years.
