Temporary Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art
The Ibiza Museum Of Contemporary Art, MACE, is located In The Dalt Vila area, occupying the arms room. The building had to be rebuilt after an explosion in 1730. It Is One of the oldest museums of contemporary art in Spain, which due to its birth to the still present Biennale of ART. In 1969 the City Council decided to organise this contest to gather the Ibizan and Formentera-inspired works, without necessarily its artists being pitiusan. Currently we can find works by Barry Flanagan, Hans Hinterreiter, Erwin Broner, Will Faber, Tapia, Miralles and a large number of works by unknown artists, as well as travelling exhibitions. At present, the museum is suffering a major reform, with the construction of a building attached to the room of arms so all its content has been transferred eventually to the City Hall, having its access through the back of the building.

The exhibition today does not allow itself to be somewhat brief, as it is barely reduced to two rooms. The Main room exhibits some works as a brief summary. The second room is somewhat more striking, as it is the gallery of portraits of illustrious sons. This collection in time from the NINETEENTH to the 21ST century collects such relevant characters as Isidor Macabich and Villangómez. For information, schedules from May to September are from Tuesday to Sunday mornings, from 10 to 13:30 and from Tuesday to Friday afternoon, from 17 to 20. From October to April, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 to 13:30 in the morning and from Tuesday to Friday afternoon from 16 to 18. Mondays and holidays remain closed.
